I really love this, how did you learn to do this?

I think anyone can do it! If you have patience. XD It's just a matter of translating pixel art on to a board. I loved perler beads as a little girl, so when I saw a perler Pikachu 2 years ago I was like .. omg, I gotta do this !! :D

I personally open any sprites in to Paint and zoom in as far as I can. If there are long lines or areas where I can't tell how many pixels there are, I break up the line with a completely different color so I can count them easier. Like .. for black lines I'll use a bright red or green to distinguish.

There's also this website that sets up the grid for you: [link] .. but I don't like using their color schemes, sometimes they're WAY off. D: Not to mention I use beads from other makes ( Hama, Nabbi ), which aren't listed there.

Wow awesome! How do they stick together?

You iron them together with a normal household iron and wax paper. :D The beads have holes in them and the board you arrange them on have 'spikes' to prevent them from moving around. So from there it's just making your design and them ironing it together!

O that seems quite simple! Is there a name for these creations?

The items themselves are called perler beads so I guess this is .. perler bead sprite art? xD Hah.

If you're interested in seeing what the items look like, this is where I order my supplies: [link] .. they have all the colors and all the different pegboard you can get. :D Also if you have any art supply stores near you ( Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Jo Ann Fabric, A.C. Moore, etc ) they carry perler bead products so you could check them out in person!
