Pokemon: Perler Bead Arcanine Sprite by heatbish Pokemon: Perler Bead Arcanine Sprite by heatbish
edit: Woke up to over 700 Feedback messages. You guys are awesome, thank you so much! Arcanine love represent! :D

edit 2: On the front page for the most popular deviations of the past 24 hours. REALLY? You guys are incredible. ;_; DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET SPAM FILTERED FOR LLAMA BADGES?! I try to give one to everyone that comments and Favorites to say 'thank you' .. but apparently there's a limit?! XD

There's a bunch of large sprites that I've been wanting to bead out, but either haven't had the time due to other commissions and orders, or just because I haven't wanted to wake up and spend my entire day bent over a pegboard. XD

But, after coming home from an early breakfast, I was REALLY wanting to knock one out. I picked Arcanine because .. well, not only is he AWESOME .. but his orange shading posed an interesting challenge. A lot of the Arcanine sprites I've seen done have gone for a more red-based coloring. I personally don't like this very much as I think he is definitely more orange in tone. So .. ORANGE AWAY! First time I got to use my Hama orange. It came out AWESOME. :D

Made with Perler, Hama, and Nabbi bead products. Approximately 13 inches tall and 13 inches wide.

Sprite reference: Pokemon Black / White.

Exact colors used, as requested:
Hama Orange ( darkest body shade )
Perler Orange ( middle body shade )
Nabbi Light Orange ( lightest body shade )
Perler Tan ( darkest mane shade )
Perler Sand ( lightest mane shade )
Perler Black ( body outline and stripes )
Perler Brown ( mane outline )
Perler White ( eyes, tooth, nose )
Perler Dark Gray ( nose, stripe highlights )

Available for purchase at my Etsy: [link]

Hello. I was wondering if maybe there was a pattern for Pikachu and Eevee together as a couple that you would possibly know about??

Many thanks

What do you think takes longer; Filling in a big space with one color, or filling it in with multiple colors?
heatbish Featured By Owner Sep 30, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
Multiple colors for sure! With one color I just put it in my hand and mindlessly fill in a big area. For multiple colors you have to worry about where one color ends and the next begins, switching to the next color, etc. :)

That does get on my nerves! I also hate when you procrastinate on making it, and when you finally have some motivation, you accidentally destroy is right before you start! (that happens to me A LOT.)
